After the chat with Rodrigo, I ran straight to Carol’s house. I had to tell her everything: the talk, the dirty questions, and especially that bold request to go to the movies without panties. As soon as I finished talking, her eyes went wide and she blurted out:
— What??? No fucking way! Oh my God, what a naughty boy!
Carol put her hand over her mouth and burst out laughing, like she couldn’t believe it, and kept going.
— And you said yes? You crazy bitch… I’m shocked!
I laughed along with her, feeling my face burn with embarrassment.
— I said yes… I don’t know, he’s hot and seemed pretty cool.
Carol looked at me with a mischievous little grin.
— You’re getting pretty slutty, huh?
She asked if I was going alone with him or if I wanted her to come along. I told her right away that I’d feel way more relaxed if she came with Murilo, the four of us going out as couples since the two guys were friends. That would be perfect.
— Let me talk to Murilo then — she said, already grabbing her phone.
While that was happening, the two of us got curious and started browsing the internet to see what movies were playing in Petrópolis. We found out Fast and Furious 7 was showing.
Having Carol by my side would make everything less scary… and a lot more fun. Deep down, I knew that with her around I’d have the guts to do any crazy shit.

2:10 p.m.
I finished lunch with my parents and went to get ready. I’d told them I was going to the movies with Carol.
I picked an all-black look: a super short black miniskirt, a long-sleeve crop top, and short ankle boots. I was a preppy girl trying to look like a rocker, influenced by Avril Lavigne; I loved pink but wore a lot of black too.
There was one bold detail in the outfit: I wasn’t wearing any panties. The skirt was short enough to keep me tense with every move. Just walking around the room I could feel the cool air brushing my exposed skin. I went to check myself in the mirror and felt a mix of nerves and excitement. It was the first time I’d gone out without panties and I was already getting a little wet.
I showed up at Carol’s still with that flutter in my stomach.
— So, cuz, you like the look? — I asked, spinning around a little. — Can you tell I’m not wearing panties?
She looked me up and down slowly, with that dirty little smile. Then she shook her head.
— Relax, you can’t even tell. — But right after that, with a mischievous look, she pulled off her own panties right in front of me and tossed them on the bed. — But since you’re going like that… I’m going without too.
Carol looked gorgeous and perfect as always: denim miniskirt, tight white top, and a denim jacket over it.
She’d asked Diego to drive us so he could see me all dressed up. And the plan worked even better than I expected.
I was coming down the stairs when he saw me. Diego stopped halfway, his eyes slowly ran over my body, and he even let out a whistle: “fiu fiu”!
— Fuck, Rafa… you look hot! Dressed to kill today, huh?
My face burned instantly. I was all awkward, heart pounding hard in my chest.
— Thanks, Diego.
We got in his Hilux and I went straight to the back seat. Carol threw herself in the front, all excited. The car had barely started moving when she let it slip, like it was nothing:
— Did Rafa tell you she’s dating, Diego?
My cousin looked surprised, glancing back.
— Dating? What do you mean?
— Rafa’s dating Murilo’s friend! We’re going to the movies as couples today, the four of us… isn’t that cute?? — she said, all smiles.
I stayed quiet in the back seat, feeling my face heat up again. Diego laughed and teased, looking at me in the rearview mirror:
— You know this guy’s gonna have to get my approval, right?
While he drove, I could feel his eyes checking me out in the mirror every now and then. I was sitting with my legs slightly apart, and the cool air was rising under my short miniskirt. “Could he tell I wasn’t wearing panties?” I wondered. Just imagining it made my heart race and my face burn with embarrassment.
Of course there was no way he could know — unless he’d caught a glimpse when I was coming down the stairs. I tried not to think about it and kept chatting with Carol, laughing at the dumb shit she was saying. But in the middle of the conversation my eyes kept drifting back to Diego. I couldn’t deny it: what I really wanted was to be going to the movies with him, not meeting some other guy.
Finally we got to the Bauhaus shopping center downtown in Petrópolis and Diego parked. That little thrill of being without panties, mixed with the anticipation of seeing Rodrigo who was waiting with Murilo, had my heart racing.
As soon as we got out of the car, Carol grabbed my hand and went straight to introducing me to Rodrigo.
He smiled and came in for a kiss on the cheek.
— You’re even prettier in person…
My face burned. He was really hot, with expressive brown eyes and short, messy brown hair. But what caught my attention most was the way he smiled at me, with those perfect white teeth. He had a friendly but also naughty vibe. He was a little taller than me, but with the heeled boots I ended up taller than him. His look was simple and casual: jeans, black T-shirt, and sneakers. The black hadn’t even been planned.
We headed to the food court because the guys were starving. They ordered full meals with burgers, fries, and soda, while Carol and I just got ice cream. We sat there chatting casually, laughing and talking shit. It was cool because it broke the ice right away.
Rodrigo was genuinely fun, with a light, natural way of talking that made everyone laugh without trying too hard. Every so often he ran his hand through his hair, messing it up even more than it already was. He somehow looked even more charming like that.
